GARDEN RAIN IRRIGATION...

...is a system designed by Landscapeplus to meet the needs of any residential garden. We like to think that we’re a company with a difference; you often find that irrigation suppliers focus on big systems suitable for commercial, golf courses and sports turf or retail with a small DIY offering, but not Landscapeplus.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Landscapeplus was started in 2000 by two brothers from a horticultural family that involved gardens, arboriculture, garden centres and even the National Trust. Whilst installing Irrigation systems in private gardens across London, they recognised that the industry was very poorly served in both product selection and service. As a result, Landscapeplus was created and has since grown to become the industry's only one-stop-shop for Lighting, Irrigation and Water Features.

It was this horticultural influence that gave the two brothers a unique way of approaching irrigation, often opting for small focused systems to care for what we would call key planting; the watering system seen as an insurance policy for the investment made in planting. Their competitors on the other hand would typically turn to big pipes, high pressure, tank and pump systems – which I find is often still the case today.

Our horticultural starting point is still the driving force behind Landscapeplus to this day.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE DIFFERENT

Being different is still something we feel very comfortable with to this day, and you’ll often hear the team asking questions such as: do you really need to water the whole garden, and do you really want pop-up sprinklers on the lawn? Most companies that rely on selling products to ‘keep the lights on’ would think we’re mad when openly trying to reduce the size of an order but as a trade-only company that does everything to build long-term, trust-based relationships, getting the right system is our top priority and constant focus.

During my time at Landscapeplus, I’ve taken huge pride in seeing our industry at the forefront of sustainability, something I hope we can continue for many years to come. Something I’ve taken a particular interest in is water usage and more specifically water wastage (check out the blog I wrote about it back in 2022). A well planned and maintained irrigation system is a sure-fire way to ensure your clients’ garden not only survives but flourishes and that water is not wasted. The most effective method of irrigation is undoubtedly drip, as it offers direct-to-root watering ensuring water is supplied where it’s required.

However… in recent years I’m finding that more and more professionals are asking, do we really need an irrigation system with the ‘plant the right plant, in the right place and you shouldn’t need it’ view. As much as I can see this logic, I feel that with our (unfortunately) ever changing climate, there has never been more need for an insurance policy on costly planting investment.

COULD GARDEN RAIN IRRIGATION BE THE PERFECT COMPROMISE?

Based on the world renowned Hunter MP Rotator nozzle that offers huge coverage with extremely low pressure and flow requirement, Garden Rain Irrigation is designed to be a cost-effective option for full coverage watering of entire areas of garden beds. The consistent watering patterns and ability to mimic rainfall makes it the ideal irrigation solution for establishing new planting plus a fantastic insurance policy during warm weather or drought conditions. The Garden Rain Irrigation system is perfect for working gardens where drip pipe may be unsuitable as it is designed to be hidden around the garden or beds, preserving the beauty of the garden. The system is fully customisable to suit a wide range of garden requirements and can be easily installed in newly landscaped gardens or retrofitted into existing gardens.
