Dyofix Pond Dye

The Dyofix pond dye is a totally non-toxic and environmentally safe powder that can be added to any pond, with a range of colours available to suit the needs of the client. Once added to the pond, the pond dye will not only improve the appearance of the water and deter predatory wildlife such as herons from harming fish stock, but also help to prevent the growth of algae and weeds.

The Dyofix prevents algae growth by filtering the light that enters the pond, blocking the spectrum of red light that algae requires to perform photosynthesis. This prevents suspended single cell algae from establishing and eventually causing a bloom. Despite this, other pond plants such as water lilies or reeds can thrive as they photosynthesise close or above the surface of the water.
