Elevate QuickPrime Plus

The Elevate QuickPrime™ Plus is designed to clean and prime the PondGard™ EPDM membrane and substrates that are to receive a QuickSeam™ product and/or Lap Sealant. The primer activates the surface of the membrane and is necessary for the seam quality. QuickPrime Plus must be applied with a QuickScrubber™ pad and handle.

Surfaces that will receive QuickPrime Plus must be clean, smooth, dry and free of sharp edges, loose materials, oil, grease and other contaminants. Pre-cleaning with Splice Wash may be required. The mating surface of the PondGard™ EPDM membrane shall be cleaned with a brush or clean rag. Restore the primer to room temperature prior to use if exposed to temperatures below 15°C for prolonged periods. Stir the primer before and during use to achieve a uniform mix with no sediments on the bottom and no marbling evident.

Apply QuickPrime Plus to the PondGard EPDM surfaces with the QuickScrubber pad and handle, using long back and forth strokes with moderate to heavy pressure along the length of the area until surfaces become dark grey, with no streaking or puddling. Allow the primed surfaces to dry completely (usually less than 10 minutes) before applying a QuickSeam product. Refer to the Firestone guidelines for specific installation instructions.

The following rates can be achieved with 1 gallon (3.78L):
▪ General: between 18 and 23 m² (one side application)
▪ Standard seam with 76 mm (3”) Splice Tape: 60 lm – 2 sides.
▪ QuickSeam SA Flashing: 35 lm – 1 side.
▪ QuickSeam FormFlash 152 mm (6”): 90 lm – 1 side.
▪ QuickSeam FormFlash 229 mm (9”): 60 lm – 1 side.
▪ QuickSeam FormFlash 305 mm (12”): 45 lm – 1 side.
▪ QuickSeam Batten Cover Strip: 90 lm – 1 side.
