ADEZZ BANDU Planters - Rectangular - Bamboo
Based in the Netherlands, ADEZZ are world renowned for their high quality and beautifully crafted planters, water features and other garden features. Crafted from sustainable and incredibly hard-wearing compressed bamboo, the ADEZZ BANDU planters bring the aesthetic of tropical hardwood to the garden without the significant environmental impact. Available in square or rectangular shapes, these bamboo planters are incredibly durable and are built to last in an outdoor environment.
Each rectangular BANDU planter features a recessed base, giving them a floating aesthetic with the planters raised up by 90mm. They feature a bottom panel to keep the soil contained, making them ideal for installation on surfaces like patios, decking and gravel. To provide optimum drainage, there are several small panel gaps on these bases which prevent water from pooling within the bottom of the planters. Planting advice:
The bamboo used for the ADEZZ BANDU planters is MOSO Bamboo X-treme. This bamboo material is an excellent alternative to tropical hardwoods that typically take 60 to 120 years to regenerate after felling, and are associated with many other environmental issues. Bamboo, on the other hand, takes just 4 to 6 years. Moso bamboo is a rapidly renewable resource that not only grows very fast (up to 1 meter per day!) but does not result in deforestation after harvesting, as the plant does not die when the stems are harvested.
MOSO Bamboo X-treme is very stable, as a result of the thermo-treatment combined with High Density® compression of the bamboo strips. They are more stable and more dense than tropical hardwoods, with their high density providing excellent carbon storage, further reducing environmental impact.
Please note:
As a natural material, the bamboo will naturally develop a grey colour over time through sun/UV exposure. If this is not desired, a protector can be used once per year - instructions can be found on the Product Information PDF on this page. When cleaning, do not use a pressure washer, scouring pad, or hard bristled brush. These can damage the surface of the planter.
Due to the size and weight of the ADEZZ range, delivery charge(s) may be applied during quotation which depend on the size and quantity of products chosen. - Cover the bottom of the planter with a layer of hydro pellets, around 10cm in depth.
- Place a permeable anti-root membrane over the pellets.
- Cover the membrane with soil suitable for your chosen plants.
