Aquascape Lake Phosphate Binder Packs
About Aquascape:
Aquascape Inc. was created in 1991 by owner and CEO Greg Wittstock, also known as "The Pond Guy", when he began building ponds around Chicago during breaks in the school year. The Aquascape ethos is to connect people to water, whilst working with nature instead of fighting against it. Aquascape pond systems utilise the natural bacterial processes within ponds to keep the water healthy and crystal clear, often incorporating water courses and rockways to imitate the positive impact of a natural stream.
Aquascape Lake Phosphate Binder Packs:
Phosphates are one of the key groups of nutrients that algae cells require to thrive and reproduce, which can spell bad news for lakes and ponds. Natural lakes are often located in areas with high water catchment from the surrounding area and as a result are often the victim of agricultural run-off and sewage effluent. This can increase phosphate levels to dangerous levels as the nutrients build-up.
Specifically designed for large ponds and lakes, the Aquascape Lake Phosphate Binder Packs can be used to bind large amounts of phosphate which, if left untreated, will cause issues with water quality and clarity. One single pack is suitable for dosing 23m², with 192 packs supplied per 1.81kg (4lb) container.
To apply the treatment to the lake, simply throw individual water-soluble packs directly into the water. This soluble design allows them to dose the water column evenly.
Due to the concentrated nature of lake treatments, they should not be used in small ponds or enclosed systems. This can cause dangerous pH swings if used incorrectly. When used as directed, the Lake Phosphate Binder is totally safe for plants, fish and other animals.
