Blanket weed, also known as string algae, is a type of filamentous algae that is made up of thousands of tiny strands that have almost hair like appearance. The main problems with blanket weed is not only the undesirable aesthetic, but also that it consumes large amounts of dissolved oxygen from the water which can create a poor environment for wildlife to thrive in. This is especially damaging in the warmer months where oxygen levels are naturally lower. Large clumps of blanket weed can be physically removed from the pond but this does not remove the tiny spores that will then cause further outbreaks in the future, hence why treatment is often the best approach for long term results.

Cloverleaf Blanket Answer is an exact and unique blend of minerals and enzymes that is totally safe for fish and plants in the pond, as well as safe to use with pond equipment such as skimmers, UV units, pumps, and even biological filtration systems. It works over the course of 5 days, turning the pond milky white at first before slowly clearing throughout the treatment cycle, leaving crystal clear water once finished. 1,250 litres of water can be treated per 100g of Blanket Answer, so simply use this ratio to work out how much is required for the pond in need of treatment.
