Landscapeplus Events 2019 - October/November
23/10/2019
October has been another busy month with the team racing up and down the country providing support and training to several contractors and designers. Below we've highlighted a few of our recent events and listed some of our upcoming events; if you'd like to attend or would like us to visit your local area please get in touch.
Miles Nursery

We teamed up with Miles Nurseries, The APL, The RHS and Creative Roots to offer a variety of talks and demonstrations.

Joined by award winning designers, Neil Sutcliffe and Toby Pritchard of Creative Roots, they covered the highs and lows of being part of a show garden from a designer and contractors point of view. Neil Sutcliffe spoke about his Chatsworth show garden 'Eutierria' and was joined by Victoria Dowling of the RHS, who explained the application process for an RHS show garden. Toby Pritchard spoke about his BBC Gardeners World Live Garden and was joined by Phil Tremayne of the APL, who discussed the importance of plant passports and the application process for BBC Gardeners World Live.
Our very own Paul Willavoys and Sam Cox provided a fully working practical demonstration of irrigation, covering everything from a tank and pump system to a micro drip system and everything in between!
Tom Miles then gave a tour and introduction to the brilliant Miles Nurseries.
New Wood Trees
We were delighted to be asked back to New Wood Trees. This time we provided a talk on all things Garden Lighting and performed a live lighting demo, giving attendees a chance to get hands on with a lighting system. New Wood Trees provided a tour of their extensive nursery and discussed how to choose the correct trees for your projects. We were also joined by APL General Manager Phil Tremayne who discussed Bio Security amongst other industry topics.
SGD North London

At this event our very own Paul Willavoys gave a talk on water feature design and the practicality of how they work in situ, providing advice to a variety of garden designers and helping them to add more to their gardens.

World Skills
We headed up to the NEC in Birmingham for the World Skills event which begun on the 21st of November and concluded on the 23rd. Thanks to the APL, Landscapeplus are pleased to offer our support for the young landscapers who took part in World Skills; by providing lighting and pond materials to help assist with the builds, working alongside some of the biggest brands in the industry such as Marshalls Group, Dickies, Makita, Ja Jones and Groundscare Products.
Eight competitors designed and constructed a small space into a section of a garden featuring lights, water features, grass, planting, etc. with the overall winner being decided at the end of the event. After an amazing show Nick Bundy of The Gadd Brothers was crowned the winner of World Skills 2019. Congratulations to all who took part and congratulations Nick.
