As the name suggests, the Muck Pucks are a solid version of this range of treatments, supplied in puck form. These pucks dissolve over time and slowly release their bacteria, making them ideal for maintenance and consistent re-application. They are great for spot treating small areas, with each puck treating around 1m² of surface area, making them ideal for small to medium sizes ponds.
The Kasco Pond Probiotic range utilise a highly concentrated formula of naturally occurring bacteria, specifically facultative anaerobic heterotrophs. In simple terms, this means they can thrive in environments in the presence or absence of oxygen, and digest organics and sediment. Aerobic conditions (i.e. with oxygen present) are best for bacterial efficiency, so these treatments work best when used in conjunction with pond or lake aerators.
This efficient formulation delivers a minimum of 2 billion bacteria per gram, or Colony-Forming Units (CFUs). CFUs are a quantitative measure of viable and effective bacteria. The word “Viable” is crucial here, ad this is what sets this formula apart from other brands as it does not contain filler-bacteria, such as yeasts, which do not help to fix water quality.

- Temperature range between 13°C and 43°C.
- Dissolved oxygen level above 2.0ppm.
- Copper algaecide below 0.05ppm
- Salinity below 7.0ppm (double dose required if above 7.0ppm)
