Gardena Soil Sensors
The Gardena soil sensor is an easy to use accessory, designed to be used in conjunction with the Gardena Flex, Select, Master or MultiControl duo tap timers. They are also compatible with the Gardena Bluetooth programmable valves. Using two AA 1.5v batteries, the sensor measures the moisture levels in the soil where it is placed. This reading is then used by the timer to determine whether the watering cycle is required. If the soil sensor detects sufficient water already in the soil it will then stop the timer from opening its internal valve, therefore preventing over watering and saving water.
The soil sensor comes with a 5 metre long cable by default, there are however cable extension accessories available upon request to enable the soil sensor to be placed further away as required.
To prevent damage to the internals of the sensor, the unit should be brought indoors when the temperature is expected to drop below 5°C. Batteries are not included in the scope of delivery. Two AA 1.5v batteries will last approx. 1 year of usage.
